The Board of Cooperative Educational Services, Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

 

Position:                 Senior Labor Relations Specialist


Assignment:          LoGuidice Educational Center – Fredonia, NY


Division:                 Labor Relations


Appointment:       Provisional – 1.0 FTE  


Classification:       Civil Service – Competitive

 

Salary Range:        $100,000 - $140,000

Job Qualifications

Qualifications Required:  Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class for five (5) years as a Labor Relations Assistant immediately preceding the date of the written Civil Service test.  Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either:

 

A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Graduate degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Personnel Administration, Labor Relations, Law, or related field and five (5) year of experience in public personnel administration,

 

OR

 

B. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Personnel Administration, Labor Relations or related field and eight (8) years of experience in public personnel administration.

 

Qualifications Desired: Good knowledge of modern public personnel administration, employee relations, public relations and State Civil Service Law and local Civil Service Rules; ability to deal effectively with school boards, educational administrators, employees and representatives of labor organizations; ability to plan, review correct and supervise the work of others; ability to carry out and implement special studies; ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; ability to analyze and resolve complex problems; ability to prepare detailed reports; ability to operate and understand modern computer programs and software; sound judgment; initiative and resourcefulness; courtesy; tact; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

 

Preference is given to those who are school attorneys or individuals who have school related labor relations experience.
